We've been pretty busy lately with Russ finishing his course & exams... He's feeling pretty confident about his results. They come through in March sometime. Now he's looking for trainee journalist jobs between his hometown, Fleet, and London.
I've been busy with work and getting myself organised for my trip to China. I'm going to be staying with my friend, Ashley, from uni & work at Bar 155 in Wellington. I had my jabs on Friday and queued for an hour on Monday to apply for my visa. Just have my malaria tablets left to start taking... I'm getting pretty excited now I've got all this done. It feels more real now!! I finish work on 31st March and leave for China on 3rd April.
It was Russ' birthday on Sunday (17th). We spent some of the weekend at his parents' with his eldest brother, Bruce, sister-in-law Katy, and nephew, Ernest. Ernest had a birthday coming up too... Today actually, he turned one!
Anyway, we spent some of the weekend catching up with them, then on Sunday afternoon Russ and I drove to London where I had a couple of surprises for him... That night was Jimeoin on Ice... A bit of stand-up comedy. I think Jimeoin's hilarious so wanted to share him with Russ. I think we really needed something to pick us up a little bit after our stressful few months down here!! Monday I took him to see the Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in the National History Museum. Amazing!!
A long weekend was just what we needed! And it was so nice seeing little Ernest again!! From here we just wait until Russ finds a job, then I will find one once I'm back from China at the end of April. Hopefully we'll end up back in London... I miss London!!
